IRAN. THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF IRAN SPEAKS.
RPI Previous Comment
This interview is of the utmost importance both because of who is being interviewed, the Communist Party of Iran, the people and region it represents, but also because the interview has been answered in the midst of a major internal conflict in Iran. Therefore, the effort made by the comrades is something to highlight and only demonstrates the deep interest of the Iranian communists in establishing a dialogue and alliance with all the workers of the world in a clear display of proletarian internationalism. All our efforts and our deepest support go to the Iranian proletariat and revolutionaries from Iran and from the Kurdistan, too.
Proletarians and Revolutionaries of the world, Unite!
The interview
What differentiates the Communist Party of Iran from the Tudeh Party and the rest of the left? What is their difference also in practical terms?
The Communist Party of Iran has nothing in common with Tudeh Party. Tudeh Party is just like any other bourgeois-liberal party, and the way they served and supported the Islamic Republic at the beginning of the revolution, they have lost their legitimacy as a leftist party for the Iranian people.
Tudeh party has been affiliated with Soviet Russia even until now during Putin´s oligarchy. This party played a role as a catalyzer and stabilizer of the Islamic regime of Iran and the disintegration of the leftist forces and is hated by the public.
According to its 1940 party program, this party still believes in the phasing of the three-stage revolution and believes in democratic bourgeois changes and alliance with the bourgeoisie against the ultra- capitalists. This party wants to form a front with the participation of smaller capitalists against imperialism. Tudeh party, like many traditional pro-Russian leftists, does not introduce imperialism in world capital and metropolitan countries, and recognizes Russia and China not in relation to capitalism relationship but outside the globalization of capital.
The Communist Party of Iran was founded on 2 September 1983. Despite the ups and downs that have occurred in the struggle for its goals after several decades of persistent activity and the sacrificing of thousands of their socialist warriors, this party is fighting for the same goal that the revolutionary communists of the world have resolutely fought to achieve since the Communist Manifesto until today. Our party is the party of the workers, the toilers and the deprived, and is fighting for soviet self-governing. Abolition of ownership of the means of production and exploitation, and a continuous revolution towards socialism.
Komaleh, the Kurdistan organization of the Communist Party of Iran, has a wide mass and radical stronghold in Iranian Kurdistan and among the working class, especially in the main cities of Kurdistan such as Sanandaj.
From a strategic point of view, the CPIran considers the construction of a socialist society. What are the strategic elements for the conquest and seizure of power as well as for the construction of socialism? Is it a political-military strategy? What does it consist of?
The Communist Party of Iran, as part of the vanguard of the international working class organization and in
accordance with its internationalist duties, is fighting for the revolutionary and socialistic overthrow of the Islamic capitalist regime in Iran.
The Communist Party of Iran is fighting for the revolutionary overthrow of the Islamic government through a labor revolution. The party´s emphasis on revolutionary overthrow means the necessity of the role of the leadership of the revolutionary working class in the victory of the revolution. The Communist Party of Iran does not believe in party and parliamentary government and considers the establishment of a government similar to the Commune of Paris and the Congress of Soviets as the alternative government after overthrowing the Islamic capitalist government. This council management paves the way for socialist measures. It is from this view that the Communist Party of Iran is struggling for revolutionary overthrow under the leadership of the working class organized in the labor councils, power in the hands of the revolutionary councils and socialist measures.
The Islamic regime in Iran cannot be overthrown without an armed revolution. This bitter reality has been proven in these 43 years of government and especially in the revolutionary movement of the last three months. To counter the revolutionary movement, the Islamic government in Iran has officially invited Russia for military equipment and direct military intervention, as it has done and continues to do in Syria against the people. Alexander Dugin and his associates, who are Putin´s main advisers, have been managing the policies of the Islamic State for years. The counter-revolutionary role of the capitalist states of China and Russia in destroying the world and creating a crisis in the world is parallel to the role of other imperialists, including the United States of America and England and other European countries, are not hidden from the people in Iran.
What are the main programmatic proposals?
In Iran, during the whole period of the royal and Islamic rule, any independent party organization, labor, student, women´s and social organizations were prohibited. Absolute tyranny has reigned. But in the absence of these institutions, some kinds of committees or secret councils have been created secretly and underground in some labor and other social fields. which have played an important role in holding labor strikes and mass protests in recent years. An example of an informal labor council in Haft Tappeh sugar cane company, teachers and… In the months of the revolutionary uprising with the slogan of Women, Life, Freedom also called Jina uprising, the secret committees of the neighborhoods, youths, women, high school students, students, and workers, retirees and so on are organized in the form of a council and are in charge of leading nationwide strikes and protests.
The Communist Party wants to continue the role of these nationwide strike committees and lead the revolutionary movement. But these committees and mass and nationwide strike will not win without a general and nationwide workers strike. The nationwide strike of the working class, and the leadership of the class-conscious and organized working class and parallel to it, the independent organized presence of women will guarantee the victory of the revolution.
The Communist Party of Iran does not support early armed action in the current situation but considers armed action to be a necessity and an unavoidable action in special circumstances according to the nationwide preparation of the struggle level and a nationwide strike to crush the capitalist military machine.
Some argue that the only way for the revolutionary strategy to make any sense is the “continentalization of the revolutionary struggle” as their goal. They talk about the “continental revolution”. This is also linked to the conception of a world revolution, where imperialism is defined as the enemy of humanity. What is your opinion about these aspects? How does the CPIran stand towards the struggle in the Middle East, of the Palestinian People, against Zionism? What is your opinion about what has happened in Libya, in Syria, in Iraq and the genocide against the Kurdish people? How does this influence in a broader strategy?
In our opinion, the continental revolution is a Europe-centeric attitude that is not effective at least in the capitalist peripheral countries. Believing in this continental revolution means accepting the current situation and tolerating the ruling tyranny in countries like Iran and Turkey and the like.
The Manifesto of the Communist League rejects such an attitude. The task of the working class of any country as an internationalist task is, in the first stage, the worker`s revolution in that country. The working class of Iran and any country should not wait for years and promises for an unknown future. The current revolutionary uprising in Iran does not delay a moment from the continuation of the revolution in Iran to prepare for the continental revolution, on the contrary, it recognizes the revolution in the weak chain of the world's capitalism as the help and precursor of the continental revolution. Trade unions and unions that bargain for a better wage and ask for capitalist reforms and do not go beyond it and are caught in the bonds of traditional leftist and populist parties with regard to foreigner policies. Trade unionism reformism policies are the chain of slavery of labor force. The labor revolution in Iran will be the forerunner of the revolution in the Middle East region and consequently in the continent.
Imperialism is not a foreign phenomenon, contrary to the opinion of the old, traditional and revisionist leftists, but it has become a form of globalization and global capital is so intermingled in the form of shares and financial and banking capital that it is impossible to separate from each other’s. Capitalists in Iran, Brazil, Europe, North America, Europe, China, and Russia are not only competitors, but also partners in hundreds of investments.
The member countries of NATO, G20 and G7 and other agreements are the signs of the alliances of global capitalists and capital imperialism in the sense of global and global neo-liberalism. Imperialism is not a phenomenon outside the borders of capitalist and metropolitan countries. In its action plan, the Communist Party of Iran supports the right of nations to determine their own destiny and the unity of nations and the global working class. CPI has always supported the Palestinian people and condemned the aggression of the Israeli government. Just as the role of Iran´s government has played a role in the interference and the intervention of reactionary proxy forces such as Lebanon´s Hezbollah, Palestine Islamic Jihad and other Islamic organizations in destroying the liberation movement of the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
Hezbollah is a Shiite and the archetype and so far the most important and efficient of all Islamic regime proxy forces in the Middle East, and it demonstrates all the traits that eventually became the trademarks ofIran’s proxy networks in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and beyond.
This discrimination is done under the pretext and justification of the fight against Zionism, and it is to the detriment of the freedom of the oppressed and displaced Palestinian people. Under the pretext of defending Palestine, the Islamic government has determined the destruction of the whole of Israel based on a 25-year plan and has written it on its intercontinental ballistic missiles. During the 8-year Iran- Iraq war from 1980 to 1988, the Islamic State declared that the liberation of Quds would pass through the occupation of Iraq. In this war, the Israeli government bombed Iraqi bases and according to the available documents, it was a supplier of very important weapons to the Islamic government of Iran. Of course, Ira ´s government calls every Israeli a Zionist and attacks every Israeli citizen. In our view, the Israeli government is condemned for war crimes and condemns the exploitation, oppression, occupation and killing of the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
CPI condemns the interference of NATO and any country in the affairs of other nationalities, including the people of Libya, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. The crimes of the Assad regime against the Syrian people are proven with the help of Iran and Russia and on the other hand, Turkey, and NATO.
CPI supports the people´s communes and other people’s institutions in North-East Syria and (Rojava) and condemns the fascist repressions of the Turkish government. Turkish army has occupied many cities and villages in this region of Syria. In October 2019, it used the prohibited white phosphorus chemical weapons against civilians, and it has been bombarding Kurdistan region of Iraq and Syria with all kinds of chemical during the last six months. Revolution in Iran strongly affects the political geography of the region.
At present there are several international communist organizations: pro-Soviet, Stalinist, Maoist, councilist, etc. The CPIran, is it part of any of them? Are you part of any regional communist organization?
The CPI has boundaries with Maoism, Stalinism and any type of Isms except communism. CPI is a Sovietist. It has organized a practical alliance with some Iranian parties in the Kurdistan region of Iran and also in Iran.
The common axis of this cooperation has formed 5 other Iranian political parties (Iran-Hekmatist Workers. Communist Party, Minority Fedayeen Organization, Communist Fedayeen Union, Rah Kargar organization, Minority Core) and organizations called the “Cooperation Council of Left and Communist Forces” since 2018. The basis of the cooperation is the joint struggle for the revolutionary overthrow of the Islamic government and the promotion of the labor revolution and the council government in Iran.
The protests in Iran have been increasingly recurrent. What are the elements that have led to these protests? The Iranian government and its supporters claim that these protests are provoked by imperialist forces. What role does imperialism play in the protests and what is the weight of the Iranian class struggle in it?
Labor protests in Iran intensified from the second half of 2006 due to the acceleration of capital neoliberalism policies, privatizations and deregulations that were imposed on the society, the nature of political Islam, especially on women and workers from the low-income layers of the society, with the force of the Islamic government. Against this inherent tyranny of capital, the ruling religious tyranny of the Islamic government also became more intense. With these material grounds, labor movements intensified especially in 2009 under the pretext of protesting fraud in the government election.
Since 2009, we have always had thousands of protests from workers, students, teachers, pensioners, drivers, women and other layers of society. In Iran, we had the uprising of 2017, which spread throughout Iran. Institutionalized corruption of the entire government, non-payment of wages, unemployment of millions, proxy wars and military interventions in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, etc attempting to acquire nuclear weapons, becoming a proxy of Russia to advance the policies and interests of the ruling oligarchs in Russia, suppressing the people living in Iran, suppressing and bankrupting production centers, turning society into a market and consuming Chinese and foreign goods, humiliating women and violation of people’s rights and dozens of other factors caused the accumulation of people´s anger.
From December 28, 2017, this wave of protest took another form under the slogan of “Bread, Work, Freedom, Council administration”, which started from the protests of Haft-Tappeh sugarcane complex workers and Ahvaz steel company. In fact, in 2018, the labor stamp on the protests became prominent. This wave was deeply suppressed. Once again, the nationwide uprising of 2019 erupted in protest against fuel price hikes since November 15, 2019, also known as Bloody November, where at least 1,500 people were killed in just four days.
Regarding the current uprising, which our party calls the Mahsa uprising referring to Mahsa (Jina) Amini, 22 years old Iranian girl who was arrested by morality police for allegedly wearing her hijab too loosely and killed in police custody after being beaten in head several times by the police, started when her murder shocked the society and ignited the rage of the society. In fact, this uprising is not just a response to Mahsa’s death, but also a continuation of the previous accumulated uprisings and a response to the oppression by the Islamic regime against the society. This time the uprising entered a new phase in a more widespread and more united and determined way for the revolutionary overthrow of the Islamic Republic.
Another prominent aspect of this uprising is the leadership of women in the demonstrations. Although women have always been at the forefront of protests and uprisings in Iran, this time the presence of women was impressive and glorious. Brutality of capitalist Islamic Regime provoked the accumulated anger of people and demonstrations in many cities of Iran from Tehran to Kurdistan to Azerbaijan, Baluchistan, Khuzestan, Mazandaran and Gilan, from north to south and east to west of Iran. According to reliable reports, until September 26th, it has covered more than 100 cities and even villages, and in some cities it led to the capture of some governmental centers and the liberation of even the city of Oshnavieh in Kurdistan for one night, attacks on government military, religious, and police bases. Undoubtedly, this magnificent protest movement will change the balance of power in favor of labor and mass struggles.
Also, Iranian women´s movement will enter a new stage in the fight against gender oppression, compulsory hijab and anti-women laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic. Despite police brutality and violence against protests and internet shutdowns, the uprising continues. So far about 500 people have been reported dead, among them about 100 children, thousands have been wounded, more than 15000 people arrested, and many others have been kidnapped and taken to unknown places, but this has not caused the protests to subside, rather more and more people and cities join the uprising.
About imperialists’ role in the protests, it is government propaganda. This government has always used that propaganda and imaginary enemies to suppress people and to maintain its backward and reactionary forces and base. In Iran, no one believes these claims and it is only for domestic consumption and in order to satisfy a very small group of government mercenary supporters. The masses do not accept the intervention of anti-revolutionary forces, including imperialists, in this revolutionary uprising, and the only request they have is to end the support of global imperialism to this collapsing government. Let´s not forget that all authoritarian and fascist regimes have used imaginary enemies, fabricated crises, etc. for maintaining their rule, and claim that the masses support them until the last moments.
The politics of the USA and the West is still to save this criminal regime. Of course, these world powers are
at the same thinking of the preparation and formation of an alternative to the regime among the bourgeois opposition. If we look at the history of the past 40 years, the Islamic government was established at the Guadalupe Summit in 1978 with the support of the West. The Islamic Republic led the 8-year war against Iraq by buying weapons from Israel, the US and other western capitalist countries. In the same days of the 8-year war between Iran and Iraq, the bombing of Iraq was carried out by Israeli warplanes. According to its Islamic beliefs, Iran has made the destruction of Israel its public slogan, and this is a fascist attitude that has also been written on its missiles. This belief, before it is a religious belief, is a political tactic that by creating a crisis in the region, and under the pretext of favoring the Palestinian people, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad and other proxy and anti-Palestinian forces will equip themselves in the region, groups which have had no benefit for the Palestinian cause, rather they have only caused harm for people in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, etc.
Imperialism is trying to organize its counter-revolutionary alternative to bring its bourgeois alternative to power in the event of the overthrow of the regime, just like the previous revolution of 1979, where in the Guadalupe meeting, the Islamic regime lead by Khomeini was brought to power. But repeating 1978 is not easily possible. A more organized, experienced, and politically conscious working class has emerged in Iran, and the socialist and radical left political organizations will not easily allow the right-wing and bourgeoisie to be establish in an imperialistic regime change policy.
The Islamic Revolution, 1979, although it had its epicenter in the working class, also relied heavily on the youth, Mahmud Ahmadinejad was part of that youth movement. What are the social sectors that lead the protests today? What role does youth and women play?
While the current uprising was sparked in response to Mahsa’s death, but it can also be seen as a continuation of the historical demands and due to the acceleration of capital neoliberalism policies, privatizations and deregulations that were imposed on the society, especially double suppression imposed on women by Islamic legislations. The imposition of the Islamic hijab was actually a symbol of subjugation, slavery and ownership over the body and soul of women. This time the uprising entered a new phase in a more widespread and more united and determined way for the revolutionary overthrow of the Islamic Republic.
The second prominent aspect of this uprising is the leadership of women and youth in the demonstrations. Although women have always been at the forefront of protests and uprisings in Iran, this time the presence of women was impressive and glorious. Also the role of the revolutionary students and youth who have a more active and radical participation in the uprising, has been extraordinary and they have shown how class aware they are in their statements and slogans, there is more hope for a revolutionary overthrowing of the Islamic regime. What also makes the society more hopeful these days is the workers’ strikes that have been growing increasingly and have taken a more active and responsible role in support of the protests and the victory of the uprising.
The third feature of this uprising is that it removes political Islam from the private and social life of the society. The fourth feature is the solidarity and unity of the ethnic groups all over Iran, which is unprecedented in the history of Iran. The fifth characteristic of this movement is the leadership of students, especially schoolgirls. It is the solidarity and support of hundreds of thousands of Iranians outside of Iran as well as freedom-lovers around the world that has made this uprising a global uprising.
Since we mentioned Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His government, was it different from the previous ones, from those that came later? In a report of the Punto Final Magazine (Chile) of the time, it was also the time of Commander Hugo Chávez, at that time it was said that under the government of Ahmadinejad the circles of Marxist studies, the Marxist left proliferated and had more space. The image of Commander Chavéz, according to the report, was also found in many Iranian homes. Was it a turn towards a less religious leftist government? Was it like this?
Not at all. For Iranian people as well as our party, Ahmadinejad was also a part of the Islamic system and thus a complicit in all its crimes against the workers, against leftists and against the freedom-loving people in Iran. While during his time, Iran gained colossal revenues from oil market, but still people in Iran became more and more poor. The 2009 protests, that took place under the pretext of the presidential elections, and was in protest to the re-election of Ahmadinejad, is a solid testimony to Iranian people’s opposition to the Islamic regime and whoever is part of it and is trying to obtain legitimacy for the it. Many protesters were massacred by the regime during Ahmadinejad’s term and many others were held in inhumane circumstances in detention, raped and tortured.
In the case of Chile, the social outbreak of 2019 had no political leadership. It was the people who expressed themselves and fought autonomously. Does the social outbreak in Iran, today, have any political leadership or is it spontaneous and autonomous like nearly all social outbreak? What has been the State's response? In 1988 the government unleashed a quite strong repression against the Tudeh party.
The strikes and revolutionary protests of the last three months are the explosion of demands and uprisings that have been suppressed and failed but alive in Iranian society at least since 1906 (constitutional revolution). All these protests and movements have their roots in economic and social relations and the oppressive role of class state. The uprisings of 2018, 2019, 2021, and now all have one common feature, which is the role of women and the working class and the toilers of urban and rural areas in the uprising. The slogans of “bread, work, freedom, council administration”, “death to the whole Islamic system”, “with or without hijab, move towards revolution”… all show the class weight of the movement. The middle and upper petty bourgeoisie (middle class) do not play much of a role in the protests, and every day the society is facing the expansion of labor strikes in strategic sectors such as oil, Gas, Petrochemical, steel and Transports.
The current movement does not have a known or underground leadership as an individual or a specific addition. However, regional and field leaders and worker´s sectors, who have found local positions in recent months and broadcast circulars or underground to continue the strike and slogans, have the role of media or collective leadership, as well as some right and left parties. CPI has bases in the Kurdistan region and part of the labor, women, youth and student sectors.
The Tudeh party is hated by many because of its decisive and stabilizing cooperation with the Islamic government from 1978 to 1983, as well as the betrayals of 1952 onwards, and in the current situation, it does not have the ability to call a multi-person demonstration in its name abroad. From this, this party is left with only a name and a number of fanatics. In the bloody years of the 1980s (when more than 100,000 people were killed by the regime), the Tudeh Party requested in a statement at the same time as the Majority Fadayeen Organization that wherever you know a secret team house of opponents of the Islamic regime, introduce it to the Islamic Guards! Leaders of Tudeh Party as a proxy of Moscow stood by the newly established government resulting from the political revolution of 1978 and called their common point as enmity with the United States of America. In 1982, the Islamic government no longer needed this party, as it had suppressed all the revolutionary forces and the working class. The leaders of this party were arrested and all of them were released at Gorbachev´s request and moved to Russia and Europe.
The leadership ordered the supporters and members to present themselves to military basis and give all their information to the authorities which they did. Many were jailed and kept in prison since the summer of 1988 were still under the illusion that the Islamic regime was planning to release all Tudeh and the Fedayeen Majority prisoners due to their cooperation with Russia and the good service of the Tudeh party and Fadayeen to the Islamic regime. Therefore, the interrogators and the current President Ebrahim Raisi, who was one of the five main members of the death committee in the summer of 1988, admitted that they were a mob with the promise of freedom. The solution of the Tudeh party and the Fedayeen Majority was that the Islamic regime has lost the war with Iraq and is in a position of weakness, and it should be dealt with aggressively. Therefore, they became victims of their good service and good imagination and were hanged.
Revolutionary forces such as the Minority Fedayeen, the Communist Party of Iran, organizations such as the Paykar organization, Rahe Kargar, etc. had lost most of their leaders and members due to the mass killings of1980s, therefore, the Tudeh Party and the Majority Party members were the remaining who had survived during these year, the rest either fled to Russia or were in prisons, which killed nearly 200 people among the 5,000 detainees of other organizations during the massacre of 1988.
From the above, what is the human rights situation? How many political prisoners are there in Iran and to which organizations do they belong?
In Iran, during the past 43 years, except for two visits by the UN representative in the 1980s, no human rights defender was allowed to visit Iran. The Islamic government does not recognize the institution called human rights. This government introduces itself as the representative of Allah on earth and believes that only Muslims are accountable to Allah and all its actions are based on the Quran. Most political prisoners in Iran today are not members of any political organization. It can be said that more than 80 percent of the prisoners are opponents of the Islamic regime and have tendencies towards the left, right or religious extremes. Few also belong to the government reformists, to the People´s Mojahedin, royalists and constitutionalists, and some to the radical leftists, including the Communist Party of Iran and the Kurdistan Organization of the Party (Komaleh). Workers (production sector, services, teachers), students and women
are among the majority of prisoners.
The military dictatorships in Latin America were based on the National Security Doctrine, on counter-insurgency tactics, on state terrorism and genocide. This led to the forced disappearance of people, torture, executions, and political imprisonment. A fascist police state was built. In Peru, the Criminal Law of the Enemy is developed and political prisoners are placed in high security prisons. From this perspective, what is happening in Iran today and under this long rule of the Islamic Republic?
The policy and method of the Islamic government in Iran, like all fascist rulers is a dictatorship. The government of Iran introduces all events and protests under the head of the foreign enemy, especially Israel and USA. It is ironic that the regime has been shouting for 43 years that America can do nothing! With the support of Russia and China in particular, the Islamic government in Iran listens to almost all telephones and monitors all movements by installing cameras everywhere, killing people, kidnapping people, stealing bodies from hospitals and emergency centers, deadly raping teenage boys and girls is the most common crime of this government. And according to Islamic laws, any aggression and torture of the enemies of God´s rule on earth is allowed. During the recent movement, until the 30th of November 2022, more than 600 people reported to be killed, more than eighteen thousand people have been arrested, more than a thousand eyes have been blinded by the shooting of shotguns. Doctors had to remove the damaged eyes. Nearly 80 children from two years old to 18 years old have been killed by torturing, batons and bullets. There are documents and videos showing teenage boys and girls being raped in blood. Looting of houses, destruction of property, cars, setting fire to houses and cutting off hands and feet, and every crime that General Pinochet, Hitler who did not commit are being carried out by the Islamic regime in Iran.
On the evening of Thursday, December 1, 2022, the mass poisoning of students in the dormitories and at least four universities of Isfahan University of Technology, Khwarazmi Karaj, Arak University of Technology and Allameh University of Tehran, among girls and boys with similar and common foods, was reflected in the media. This serial poisoning epidemy can be considered ;intentional poisoning. Considering the nature of the ruling criminals and the leading role of the students in current uprising, it is possible that the Islamic government has set up a kind of microbial war to create fear paralyze the student movement.
Including: contradictions, concealment, not providing medical facilities, serum, antibiotics, and other essential drugs, this is considered a war crime that should be immediately investigated and prosecuted by
international legal authorities.
You call for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic, what do you say to those who support the government of Iran and who could accuse you of validating imperialist policies?
The Islamic state was brought to power with the approval and support of the imperialists, including Russia during Brezhnev, to contain the popular revolution of 1978 and to prevent the continuation of the political revolution into a social revolution. The Islamic state could not stay in power in this 43-year period without the approval of global capitalism. European governments have been the economic partners and political support of the Islamic regime in Iran. In these 43 years, Russia and China have played a colonial role in Iran, and in fact, the Islamic state in Iran is a puppet of this imperialist bloc. This government in Iran has played the role of a proxy force for Putin´s Russia and a broker of cheap low-quality consumer goods and weapon from China. American imperialism, especially the Democrats in the role of Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden, have supported the survival of the regime by injecting billions of dollars into the bankrupt and fascist Islamic regime in Iran. The issue of sanctions against Iran just served the ruling mafia gangs in Iran.
For nearly half a century, the Islamic regime has used the sanctions of the west as an excuse in Iran to deprive the entire society of it most basic human, social and political rights. The slogan of the Islamic regime in Iran against imperialism has only been to divert the public opinion and supporters of the regime.
By evading the sanctions, state gangs sent cheap oil and fuel to Venezuela, China, South Korea, etc., and used the incomes for purchasing weapons of mass destruction from global capitalist markets, for supporting and equipping their proxies, terrorists, and military forces, for spreading terrorism everywhere and reaching the production of drones and intercontinental missiles and the production of uranium close to making atomic weapons, all of which took place while this regime was under sanctions by the European and American governments, anti-human sanction that only hurt people’s masses. The Islamic government has been allowed to expand its military interventions in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Palestine and the entire Middle East region and some North African countries, which has led to the destruction of these societies. European and the US governments have been trying to bring the Islamic government of Iran closer to themselves and keep it away from the Eurasian bloc led by Russia, while the Islamic regime sees
Russia and China as a means of its inhuman survival and as a bargaining tool used in its tension with the western powers.
From our point of view, the regimes in Cuba and Venezuela are not socialist governments. Of course, in the first years of its democratic revolution, Cuba made valuable efforts for a socialist orientation, but with the political and economic blockade of North America and the West, as well as the appointment of a party government and avoiding the council administration without the involvement of workers in the advancement of council socialism, it approached a kind of non-proletarian socialism which was criticized in Manifest of Communist by Marx and Engels. Venezuela during Chavez´s era and later never had a revolutionary or socialist element, and together with Cuba, they acted against the demands of the workers, against revolutionary socialism, against internationalism, and against the struggle of people in Iran, and they stood by the fascist regime of Iran. This approach is not due to a mistake. Isn’t it enough to look at the
labor, socialist movement, and the struggles of recent years in Iran to understand the class facts of the Iranian society? Is it impossible for them to understand the nature of the fascist government of Iran? We do
not believe their position and support to Islamic regime is due to a misunderstanding and due to a mistake in analyzing the nature of the Islamic regime of Iran.
In this struggle, in this social outbreak, in this sharpening of the class struggle, what role does the struggle of the Kurdish People in Iran play?
People in Tehran and other big cities in Iran shout: “Kurdistan, the grave of the fascists!” Kurdistan has always been one of the bastions of the revolution. People in Kurdistan have been always against the rule of the Islamic Republic. They said no to the Islamic Republic in the referendum that was held after the 1979 revolution. During the 43 years of the rule of the Islamic regime, most people in Kurdistan have boycotted all the elections in Iran and have seen them as sham elections that have been seeking legitimacy for a criminal regime.
In the past two months, Kurdistan has become one of the bastions of the advance of the revolution to overthrow the Islamic Republic. That is why Iranian society believes that strengthening the bastion of the revolution for freedom and equality happen through supporting the revolutionary uprising of the people in the cities of Kurdistan and for the same reason that the Islamic Republic believes that crushing the uprising in Kurdistan will bring the uprising in whole Iran to an end. Because of this, and along with the expansion of the revolutionary movement, the Islamic Republic marched into the cities of Kurdistan and killed dozens of people with military-grade bullets, destroyed people's houses, and deprived many of its residents of the minimum normal life facilities, kidnapped the wounded from hospitals and medical centers and prevented their treatment to practically kill them.
What is the solution for the demand of the Kurdish People? At least from within Iran.
This revolutionary movement united all the nationalities and the ethnics living in Iran, especially Kurds and Baluchis. The demands of the Kurdish people (more than 5 million Kurds in Iran) are common to the other part of Iran, such as the revolutionary overthrow of the Islamic government, freedom, removal of oppression, bread, housing, happiness, and as an oppressed nation, removing the oppression of the central state-nation. Considering the history of struggles and the existence of political parties and organizations, Iran´s Kurdistan has the material prerequisites to be liberated sooner and be a bastion for the freedom of all of Iran. The CPI and its Kurdistan Organization (Komaleh) want council rule instead of party rule in Kurdistan. Therefore, Kurdistan in unity with the victory of the labor revolution can achieve its revolutionary demands. Of course, there are bourgeois nationalist parties who want to tie up with the reactionary governments of the region, get support from America and Europe, share the power and form puppet governments. The Communist Party is trying to organize a bloc of left revolutionary and socialist alternative forces, a council in Kurdistan and a labor union throughout Iran to ensure the victory of the revolution.
Final words
What call would you make to the peoples of Latin America, to the revolutionaries?
From the position of labor internationalism, the Communists of Iran and the working class and the rising masses expected from the people of Latin America to practically support the revolutionary movement in Iran. Requesting the governments to cut off diplomatic relations with the government of Iran, closing embassies, sending messages of solidarity of Latin American women, artists, working class and students and people to the working class and women and people rising in Iran, demanding the release of political prisoners, taking the criminal rulers in Iran to court, including solidarity and internationalist actions that can
strengthen the revolutionary movement. Thank you for your solidarity!
