IRAN. STATEMENT FROM THE COUNCIL OF COOPERATION OF IRANIAN LEFTIST AND COMMUNIST FORCES
The statement from the Council of Cooperation of Iranian Leftist and Communist Forces:
No to war, no to warmongering, no to the Islamic government!
Long live workers revolution
On the eve of the 1st anniversary of the massacre and collective punishment of over two million people in Gaza and thekilling of over 41,000 Palestinians amidst ethnic, national, and religious cleansing in the West Bank, Israel’s state terrorism has subjected the people of Lebanon to brutal and devastating bombings. This has so far resulted in over one million displaced people, tens of thousands of injured and disabled, and extensive destruction. Meanwhile, Israel is preparing to turn its policy of organised assassinations and indirect warfare into a destructive war against Iran, with the participation of the United States and NATO.
For a long time, the rivalries, conflicts, and international tensions among major powers, especially in the Middle East, have crossed all thresholds of danger and red lines. The battle to redraw the map of power in the world’s political geography has effectively pushed the people of our region towards a destructive hell, and the world and international order have entered an irreversible stage.
Amidst theregional rivalry between the Islamic regime of Iran and the racist state of Israel, these two reactionary and extremist forces have entered a phase of confrontation. The status and position of these two regimes and their allies, as influential and decisive parties in this conflict, play a crucial role in the outcomes and consequences of these clashes. At this stage, alongside the implementation of the «Dahiya Doctrine,» which involves the disproportionate use of force in Gaza and the West Bank, targeting civilians and infrastructure as a policy of collective punishment, the assassination of leaders and killing of commanders has become a key tactic.
Although this policy does not result in the complete collapse of a political structure, it leads to confusion, chaos, and severe vulnerability for the enemy. The assassination of nuclear scientists and officials of the regime, the killing of IRGC commanders in Lebanon and Syria, the death of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and the killing of commanders from Hezbollah and the Quds Force, particularly Hassan Nasrallah, are prominent examples of this method of warfare and elimination.
It should be expected that this trend will continue. In this regard, the war that began between the Islamic regime and the state of Israel has now transitioned from the mutual deterrence phase to a new, perilous, and risky stage following the significant weakening of the Islamic regime’s proxy forces in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. This includes the elimination of critical figures affiliated with the Islamic Republic by the Israeli state and the encirclement of Israel through proxy forces by the Iranian regime. The sirens of war and destruction have sounded.
While policy of strengthening proxy groups in the region has failed at a tremendous cost, Islamic Republic’s policy of «strategic patience» has reached an impasse due to extensive Israeli aggression. Direct missile and rocket attacks on Israel have become the Islamic regime’s only means of response. However, these direct attacks have strengthened national and international support for Netanyahu’s extreme-right government. They have paved the way for imposing and accepting plans for devastating attacks on Iran and have led to the failure of President Pezeshkian’s efforts to break out of isolation and engage with the West. Despite sending apparent and hidden messages to the U.S. for accommodation with America and the West and for reopening nuclear negotiations, the policy of cooperating with Russia and China, along with providing missile and drone assistance to Russia in the Ukraine war, is the Achilles’ heel of these efforts.
The Netanyahu government has intensified its efforts to lead the regime down an irreversible path of war and draw the U.S. into the conflict by assassinating Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hassan Nasrallah, and most of Hezbollah’s military commanders while also sending a message to the people of Iran.
The rivalry between the two apartheid regimes—Jewish and Islamic—has opened the doors to destruction and suffering for the region and its people. The greatest victims of this conflict are the inhabitants of the area. This struggle between the two regimes does not represent the people’s will. Their promises and messages should not deceive us. We have seen the consequences of their actions in the repression of the Iranian people over the past forty years and the tragic circumstances faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. A world without state and extremist terrorism would undoubtedly be safer; however, the victory of either side does not serve the goals or interests of the people.
The Council of Cooperation of Leftist and Communist Forces condemns Israel’s criminal war against the civilian population in Palestine and Lebanon as a war crime. It calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire on all fronts in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, the immediate cessation of bombings, and the removal of all obstacles to humanitarian aid for the people of Palestine in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. At the same time, it condemns all efforts to expand the war throughout the Middle East and Iran. This conflict is not a war of the people; it is a struggle for dominance aimed at strengthening the criminal capitalist regimes in Iran and Israel and bolstering arms manufacturing companies. The greatest victims of this war are the people of the region and the revolutionary movement in Iran. We must stand against this war with all our strength.
We urge all leftist and communist forces, the global working class, and all freedom-loving, humanitarian, and peace-seeking individuals in Iran, the Middle East, and around the world to raise their voices against war and warmongers. We stand in support of the revolutionary movement in Iran to overthrow the Islamic Republic, advocate for the coexistence of the region’s peoples, call for the recognition of an independent Palestinian state, and strive for freedom, equality, and socialism. We must once again take to the streets to oppose war and the ruling warmongers.
Down with the capitalist regime of the Islamic Republic!
Long live freedom—long live socialism
